Order Tickets
Our seats are again in the Pavilion Boxes, down the left field line. Conveniently located near the Northwest escalators, we will have easy access to our seats. The cost of tickets this year remains at $24, which is a 25% discount - or $8 off - of the premium date price of $32. A $6 S&H charge is also added per order. You may download the order form in PDF format here.
Orders will be taken March 31 - June 15
Orders for tickets should be POSTMARKED no earlier than Opening Day, March 31. (Orders postmarked prior to March 31 will be processed on May 1.) Orders will be processed approximately a week after they are postmarked to insure that all orders mailed on the same day are processed together (so no one needs to drive to Strasburg to mail their order so that it arrives earlier). As tickets are available, I will fill all orders postmarked on a given day. On the day that there are not enough tickets available to fill all orders, I will randomly draw from the orders with the same postmark until the tickets run out. Ticket orders must be postmarked by Father's Day, June 15 to allow time for transit in the mail. Please review "Inspection Policy" under the Ballpark A-to-Z Guide for more information about what you will be permitted to bring into the ballpark with you.
Promotional Materials
If you would like to promote CID Day at the Ballpark in your congregation, you may download a bulletin insert and a bulletin board flier here. You may also request a full sized poster by sending an e-mail request.
A Note Concerning Fans 15 and Under
At various times in the past, CID Day at the Ballpark has been assigned seating in areas of the ballpark where children's pricing was available. This year, as noted above, we are in the Pavilion Box area of the ballpark. Consequently, no children's pricing is available. Everyone attending CID Day at the Ballpark 2007 has the same priced ticket - $24.
History
The first annual Central Illinois District Day at the Ballpark was Saturday, October 11, 1999. Since then, the congregations of the Central Illinois District of the Lutheran Church-Missouri Synod have gathered once per year to witness the historic rivalry between the Chicago Cubs and the St. Louis Cardinals unfold. On September 16, 2000, the Concordia Seminary Chorus sang the National Anthem before the 2nd Annual CID Day. The ceremonial first pitch was thrown out by Merrol Feickert, daughter of Pr. Rollie Feickert, at the 3rd Annual CID Day on May 12, 2001. Pr. Feickert purchased that priviledge for his daughter at the charity auction for the Lutheran Care Center in Altamont. Lutheran High in Springfield was the beneficiary of a donation of CID Day 2002, when successful bidders joined District Staff in a Cardinal Party Suite. July 27, 2002 also saw CID members Cinda Held, Lisa Rincker, and Pastor Michael Mohr lead the Stadium in the singing of "God Bless America" before the start of the game. The Seminary Chorus returned for the next three years, reprising the National Anthem at the 6th CID Day, July 10, 2004 and singing "God Bless America" for the 7th (September 5, 2005), 8th (August 26, 2006) and 9th (September 15, 2007) CID Days.
